Which stove pipe should I have?

There are also plenty of matching accessories for a garden fireplace. A garden fire is often placed near or under a canopy, but of course it is not pleasant to get the smoke under here. That is why many garden fireplaces allow you to extend the stove pipe. Take, as an example, the BonTino. This garden fire comes standard with a stove pipe. This can easily be extended with a stove pipe and/or bend to route the smoke outlet along the roof of the canopy. This is very easy to fit to the garden fireplace and increases the enjoyment of the garden fireplace.

Please note that the longer the stove pipe is extended, the weaker the draught in the fireplace becomes and smoke may develop in the fireplace.

Different kinds of firelighters

Lighters are indispensable for making a good fire in the garden fireplace, fire pit or for a wood barbecue. The different types of firelighters are:

  • Lighters (often made of vegetable oil and untreated hut)
  • Wood shavings: good for kindling the fire
  • Kindling sticks

Tips for making a good fire

  1. Lay two logs parallel to each other and lay another two logs a quarter turn parallel to this
  2. Place firelighters and/or wood shavings in the middle, under, the logs and light them
  3. The logs will burn by themselves. When replenishing the wood, make sure the stack is stable and neat. This will give you the most beautiful fire and you can easily replenish wood again and again.
  4. Want to put out the fire? Throw sand over the fire and disassemble the logs if possible. The logs will then cool down faster and go out.

What is the best axe?

An axe is a very practical accessory for making a good fire. You can use an axe to reduce large logs and put them in the fire pit or garden fireplace more easily. Moreover, an axe can be useful for survival in the wilderness. Which axe do I need to split wood? To reduce firewood, a splitting axe is the best solution. You can use it to split wood and easily make your own firewood.
