What type of barbecue grilles are there?

A bbq grill grille can be found for almost every fire pit, fire bowl or barbecue. From round barbecue grilles to a half grill grate in various sizes. But also a grill grille with handles or a square barbecue grill are available in our range. Take a good look at the dimensions at the barbecue grill. If you prefer to take a grill grate slightly larger than the fire pit or fire bowl, you can be sure that the grille fits well.

Barbecue grilles are often made of stainless steel, cast iron or ordinary steel. Because this grill is specially produced for food preparation, these are food safe.

Stainless steel bbq grill

A stainless steel grill is most common. stainless steel stands for stainless steel which means that the outer layer will not rust and this is a very food-safe barbecue grill. In addition, stainless steel is hygienic because it does not absorb odors or bacteria.

Cast iron BBQ grill

Cast iron is a durable material and can last for years. In addition, little maintenance is required and you can keep the grill greasy with oil to give rust no chance. In addition, cast iron conducts the heat very well. This results in an even result of the food.

Cleaning barbecue grill

There are a number of ways to clean a barbecue grill.

  • Aluminum foil: make a wad of aluminum foil and lightly rub the remains of the grill.
  • Heating up the barbecue grill: heat the grill over fire. The leftovers will easily come off.
  • Lemon: prick half a lemon on a fork and rub the grill with the open side. The fat will dissolve and is easy to remove from the grill. In addition, the acidic lemon juice removes odors from the grill.

More cleaning tips for the barbecue grill can be found in our blog.

Maintain cast iron grill

Before use, it is recommended to burn in a cast iron grill. You do this by lubricating the grille with a layer of oil and heating it in the barbecue until the oil is absorbed. This creates a non-stick coating and a protective layer against rust.

Rust on bbq grill

Rust on the barbecue grill is not ideal and unsanitary. How do you get this off the schedule?

  • Steel wool: a steel or cast iron grill can be cleaned with steel wool. Sand in one direction and apply an even pressure.
  • Vinegar: Vinegar is an acidic agent that can soak rust. Soak the grate in vinegar for several hours or even a whole night and gently rub the grate with a cloth.
  • Lemon and salt: lemon is also an acidic agent. By means of half a lemon and salt, rust can dissolve and come off.

How do you use a barbecue grill?

Grilling with a barbecue grid is easy and an accessible way to use a barbecue or outdoor grill. Follow these steps for a successful barbecue.

  • Preparation of the barbecue: ensure a nice fire of wood or ensure that the coals or briquettes are at the right temperature.
  • Preparation bbq grid: grease the grate lightly to prevent food from sticking to the grill.
  • Food preparation: make sure the ingredients are at room temperature. This ensures an even result.
  • Grilling: turn the food around every now and then. Regulate the temperature by changing the air supply.

Oil or butter on barbecue grill

Use high-burning oil or butter to grease the grill before use. This prevents food from sticking to the grill and makes grilling on a bbq grill even easier. Vegetable oil, corn oil or sunflower oil are good oils for grilling and baking on a barbecue. Be careful with butter. Butter has a lower smoke point and can therefore burn faster and give off unpleasant flavours if used too hot.
