Small 60 cm diameter fire pits

You dream of a fire bowl in the garden for extra atmosphere, warmth and cosiness, but which size fire bowl is best for your garden? A 60 cm diameter fire bowl is a small but pleasant size. The fire bowls in this category fit any garden and even look great on a terrace. If you like to light the occasional fire and keep it modest, a 60 cm fire bowl is a good choice. This size will suffice on a roof terrace of, say, 15-20 m². If the space is a bit larger, check out the 80 cm or even larger fire bowls up to a diameter of 150 cm.

How to choose the right size fire bowl?

The right size fire bowl depends on a number of factors:

  • Size of garden/terrace
  • Number of seats
  • Desired accessories

Example situation: a small city garden of 16 m², 2-3 seats, preferably with the possibility of a grill grate. In this case, a 60 cm size is an excellent choice. A 60 cm fire bowl is a handy model and can easily be placed on the side. There are also plenty of grill grids available for fire pans with a diameter of 60 cm.

Accessories for 60 cm braziers

There are plenty of accessories available for 60-cm diameter fire pits. An example is the Esschert BBQ grill/griddle with a diameter of 62 cm. This half grill and half baking tray fits perfectly on fire bowls with a diameter of up to 60 cm and allows grilling and baking on the fire. In addition, BonFeu brand grill grills are very pleasant to use and of high quality.

Where to place a firebowl?

Ideally, place a fire bowl on an old garden tile to prevent heat release on beautiful garden tiles or grass. A base plate can also take heat, but will still allow heat to pass through to the ground. Due to its open character, the fire in the fire bowl is quite open. So always place the fire bowl on a flat surface that is level as much as possible.

Due to the heat release under the fire bowl and the open character of a fire bowl, it is not recommended to place a fire bowl on a wooden floor or table.

What do you need for a fire bowl?

To use a fire bowl, good lighting products such as firelighters, wood shavings and firewood are needed. In addition, long matches or a magnesium stick to safely light the fire are very handy. Want to make enjoying the fire a little safer? Use a suitable spark screen to stop jumping sparks. In addition, a good surface as described above is necessary to prevent permanent heat spots.

Fire bowl after use: cleaning and storage

Very important when using a fire bowl: let the ashes cool well before discarding. Remove the ashes with a hand broom and discard in a seperate rubbish bag. For example, place a fire bowl lid on the fire bowl to prevent moisture and dirt from entering the fire bowl or use a protective cover for protection against discolouration and moisture.
