Firelighters; How to use them?
Fire lighters are used to set something on fire. This can be a barbecue fire basket, terrace fireplace or campfire, but also firewood for the fireplace. Often firelighters are made of sawdust and paraffin.
In order for the firewood to catch fire, the first step is to light the fire starter. After the fire starter is lit, the fire starter can be placed in a pyramid shape around the fire starter. Good fire starter is dry and thin, so the flame from the fire starter will quickly spread to the fire starter. Once the fire starter is burning well, the firewood (again in the shape of a pyramid) can be placed on top. Start with small logs and work your way up to large logs.
The advantage of firelighters
The advantage of firelighters over old newspapers or methylated spirits is that they burn a lot longer. On average, a fire starter burns for about 5 minutes. The kindling has enough time to catch fire from the lighter during this period. In addition, there is a danger that methylated spirit, if used incorrectly, can cause a flash fire. Such a flame can have enormous consequences, such as burns. A firelighter is a very safe way to light a fire. In addition, firelighters are very affordable.
In short: firelighters are cheap and very safe to use.
