Buying a black fireplace?
A garden fireplace is an atmosphere maker and heat source in one. A black garden fireplace is perfect for a stylish modern garden with, for example, a lot of black furniture. You can place a garden fireplace under the roof with an extended stove pipe or at the garden table for dining. In any case, a garden fireplace is an attractive addition to the garden.
Cooking with a garden fireplace
Many fireplaces in our range come standard with a grill grate. You can often place it above or in the garden fireplace. With a grill grid you can easily make small snacks such as burgers or skewers. In addition, you can also use the grid to make a soup with a cast iron pan or to heat chocolate milk.
In addition to the standard grill grilles, there are also a plancha to purchase from the BonFeu fireplace. This plancha is a dense baking tray and can withstand high temperatures. Let the baking tray get hot over the fire. You can use the baking tray for various dishes. This way you simply sear a piece of meat or bake some vegetables.
Rust on a black fireplace
Black steel fireplaces have the property of oxidizing in contact with moisture and oxygen. This is a natural reaction and cannot be countered for black steel fireplaces. In principle, it does not detract from the quality of the fireplace. Cast iron black garden fireplaces also have this property. Due to the thickness and hardness of the material, it is less likely to show rust, but it can happen after some time.
Which fireplace does not rust?
Unfortunately, there is little to do about the rusting process, which is a natural reaction of steel when used outdoors. Do you not like the rust color, but do you want a black fireplace? Then choose a cast iron garden fireplace. This material may rust, but with the right treatment such as smearing with stove debris, rust is less likely to get a hold of the material. Do you want a black garden fireplace made of steel? Then a black heat-resistant paint can make the black fireplace completely black again.
Fireplace under the roof
You have a roof and want to place a stylish fireplace under this, how do you do that? In our range, special wood stoves are available that are made for outdoors. But garden fireplaces such as the BonCarré can also be placed under the roof with extra stove pipes.
Use an extra stovepipe and 2 bends of 45 °. Place one corner on top of the standard stovepipe. Attach the extra heater pipe to this and close with another bend. In this way, the stove pipe passes well past the stove and you can place the stove under the veranda where the smoke is neatly removed.
