Stoking a cosy fire

The insulating effect of this stone chimenea/terrace fireplace means that you can light a cosy fire with little wood. Remember that these lovely fireplaces are mainly intended to create a cosy atmosphere. This means that you should not stoke it too hard. Keep the fire "small" because at too high temperatures the fire will crack.

The Colima patio fire is supplied with a stand so that it is stable and you can easily move the fire.

Resistant to frost, but...

The Colima patio fire can withstand moderate frost, provided it is dry. In low temperatures, it is better to store a damp fireplace in a dry, frost-free place and cover it with a matching protective cover.

Attention: Before stoking the fire, fill the fire with a layer of about 6 cm of (play) sand or gravel.  The first few times you should light the fire gently with paper and possibly a little wood, this ensures that the clay hardens and a refractory joint is formed. After this you can light the fire with wood, but remember that you must light in moderation, for your comfort and the durability of your stove.
